College Scholarship & Mentoring Program
The Tramuto Foundation provides financial grants and mentorship for graduating high school seniors who have faced special challenges. Students are chosen based on their academic success and the effort and determination they have shown in facing these challenges. Scholarship, involvement in school and community activities, personal character, leadership qualities, and demonstrated financial need are considered.
Each year, two (2) high school seniors who attend either Wells-Ogunquit High School and Bangor High School are awarded a $20,000 scholarship ($5,000 per school year) to be used toward tuition and other expenses at a college or university of their choice.
Hearing human need and responding is the fundamental mission of the Tramuto Foundation. This is best accomplished by making resources available to individuals and communities through collaborative partnerships. We believe that establishing a collaborative partnership with the scholarship recipient through the Foundation’s mentorship program benefits the student and fulfills the Foundation’s mission. Once scholarship recipients are selected, they are assigned a Tramuto Foundation mentor (a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors) who will mentor them throughout their college years and beyond. All scholarship recipients must participate in the mentoring program.
The Tramuto Foundation scholarship helps provide access to a college education, and the mentorships offer the guidance and support often necessary for success in higher education and beyond. The relationships that Tramuto scholars establish with their mentors help them develop the connections and networks necessary to meet their ultimate career goals beyond college.
The new submission deadline is April 30.
