Compassionate Leadership Scholarship

In Loving Memory of Board Member Mary Kelleher

Once scholarship recipients are selected, they are assigned a Tramuto Foundation mentor (a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors), who will mentor them during their college years and beyond. All scholarship recipients must participate in the mentoring program.

The TramutoPorter Foundation Compassionate Leadership Scholarship, created in loving memory of our Board Member Mary Kelleher, honors high school students whose lives reflect resilience, kindness, and the courage to lift others up.

In addition to personal growth, the four-year, $30,000 scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate Compassionate Leadership by using their experiences to make a positive impact through empathy, inclusion, and everyday acts of support. Compassionate Leadership is not about titles or positions; it is about lifting others up, creating belonging, and showing courage through kindness.

This scholarship celebrates young people who learn from their Breakthrough Moments and who embody the heart, compassion, and leadership needed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We seek students who have experienced a Breakthrough Moment — an experience, big or small, that encouraged them to grow, adapt, or see the world in a new way. A Breakthrough Moment might be adjusting to a new school, supporting a friend, discovering a passion, or finding their own voice. These moments shape us in meaningful and lasting ways.
